Accuracy and sourcing

Every technical claim in our articles should be traceable to a primary source: Apple's own documentation, a software developer's published documentation, a standards body document, or a reputable technical publication. We do not rely on secondary sources for technical facts unless the primary source is cited.

We do not fabricate error-code meanings, terminal commands, Apple documentation references, or macOS behaviour descriptions. When the behaviour of a feature is uncertain or varies between system versions, we say so using careful language ("can", "may", "often", "depending on your system") rather than stating uncertain things with false confidence.

Author disclosure and expertise

Every article on this site carries a byline. Each author page describes their actual role and actual areas of knowledge. We do not attribute articles to fictitious experts, do not claim Apple employment or certification that does not exist, and do not imply that our writers have tested every step on every hardware configuration.

Author roles at Apple Support 247 include technology writer, consumer technology researcher, device-help editor, and software troubleshooting contributor. These are accurate descriptions of what our writers do. None imply Apple affiliation or certification.

Safety warnings

When a troubleshooting step has the potential to erase data, modify system files, reinstall software, or otherwise change the device in a way that is difficult to reverse, our articles display a clear warning before the step — not after it. The reader must see the warning before deciding whether to proceed.

Independence and conflicts of interest

Apple Support 247 is an independent publication. We do not receive payment from Apple Inc., from Apple Authorised Service Providers, or from repair businesses in exchange for coverage. We do not accept sponsored troubleshooting guides. Our editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial relationships.

If we were to accept advertising or affiliate arrangements in the future, those arrangements would be disclosed clearly on the pages where they appear and would not influence the content of our troubleshooting guides.

Trademarks and identity

Apple Support 247 is not Apple. We do not use Apple's logo, Apple's trademark trade dress, or any other Apple-owned intellectual property. We reference Apple product names in a descriptive, nominative sense to identify the devices and software our guides cover. Apple and its product names are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Updates and version accuracy

Apple software changes between major releases. Instructions for one version of macOS may not match the current version. We note the last-updated date on every article and attempt to flag where instructions are version-specific. When a significant macOS update changes the relevant steps, we update the guide.
